Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 for the Olympic contest. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics coach who became Comaneci's coach in later years she discovered her when she was six. The first time she competed at the national junior championships of 1969, finishing 13th. She won the competition in the year 1970. In her first international competition in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she was awarded three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974, she was an overall junior champion. The athlete won four golds and one silver medals in her first international competition for seniors which took place in the year 1975. It was the first time she had competed as an adult. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman to perform a reverse double salto, which is dismounting from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business in her teens. The path she took to success began by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. Ice Capades showcased performances of ice-skating performed by actors.
