One baby was strapped on my back as the other crawled in the playground. I worked 12 hour days, for months, sanding and taking wallpaper off, all while carrying one kid. Ha! We were getting close to finishing, but the project was still a distance to go. It would take the time, energy, as well as my personal favorite to complete the interior of this house. My three sons and me searched for hidden gems while at estate sales to ensure that my spending was under control. Our routine for the week consisted of walking from Thursday to Saturday through estate sales and garage sales to purchase a mix of antique and brand new furniture as well as spending on weekdays painting and sanding the driveway. It was kind of like this... Here is the place where my passion for restoring antique furniture started. After our home was fully furnished, I could not quit! I had an area at the market, where I would sell items. I could outgrow the area because I had numerous pieces I was able to use. The house became a venue that I hosted open houses. Up to 1000 visitors could see the things on my first floor and purchase them. Growing Days was founded in my house. Not only was my business flourishing, but I was also growing our sweet family as well. There was a perfect balance between the start of a company and becoming a mother. Growing Days fit perfectly. Nora my fourth child was born in 2013. Although I was happy about the direction my company went, I was feeling like I needed to take an occasional break. I decided to step back and stay at home, with my children. It was just what I needed. However after a few months off the phone started to ring. Many people called me for help regarding home improvements and decor. A majority of them were people who came into my residence during my furniture open houses. I began taking on clients at a time working at my own pace but it didn't take time before I was running multiple accounts and was running a complete home renovation business. You would probably have amused me if I had told you that this would become the basis of an DIY Network tv series. If I think back, it makes me laugh.
