Katherine Heigl has opened up about growing up within "a White bubble." The actress also discusses the impact that this realization has had on her parenting of adopted children who are multi-racial. The "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress revealed in a recent interview she was told that when it came to the color of her skin, she didn't care how she looked like however, after speaking about her sister's age, who was adoptive from South Korea, she realized how different society treated each of the two. "I wanted to know Meg whether she felt that she was treated differently when going out with us parents than those who went out on her own. Meg replied "Oh Yes, all the moment!" This made me realize I had been so naive," Heigl said to her parents. She admitted that she was angry however she was also aware of it was necessary to use her anger to help her children. Heigl shares a son of four years and Josh Kelley, her husband for 13 years. They adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea at the age of 12 in 2009. then Adalaide aged 8 who is now young and Black in 2012.
